To patrol, inspect production units and gather data. To provide support to all Quality Assurance personnel. Verifying incoming raw material to customer specific or industry standard specification including all special test requirements. Assist QA Supervisor in the dimensional verification of plaster casts, first off parts. Implement and maintain gauge calibration and SPC programs. Maintain the quality system documentation to ISO 9001 standards.

Responsibilites

• Monitor production units for all quality within the company both defence and hammer shops
• Interface effectively and support all departments
• Measure production product and store data for accessibility
• Generate and involved with last off process to determine future tooling condition
• Maintain test pieces are logged and issued
• Maintain proper documentation is the current revision and is neat and legible
• Issue corrective actions when product is non conforming
• Assist in calibration, incoming tooling inspection and CMM layout when needed
• Assist General Foreman between  supervisor shift change as well when foreman is on vacation
• Ensure all heat codes and tagging containers is correct
• Maintain Steel Suppliers Material Certification
• Maintain Customer Certificates of Conformity
• Maintain Special Test Status Reports
• Maintain production/inspection of SPC charts/data
• SPC data entry and compiling new charts
• Maintain up to date quality assurance documents, inspection test plans, customer/supplier correspondence
• Engineering levels, specification requirements etc
• Maintain Defence shipments and all paperwork associated
• Perform internal audits

Requirements:

• Forging related experience
• Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality principles
• Knowledge of the Health and Safety Act and Regulations
• Computer literate – Excel, Word, MS Dynamics, and other company specific software
• Ability to make effective and prompt decisions
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to oversee and drive multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standard
• Ability to effectively and diplomatically coach, mentor and guide personnel regarding quality & manufacturing
• Able to read blue prints, understand various customer specifications
• Able to use hand grinder
• SPC Knowledge and interpretation from manual and computerized sources
• Knowledge of quality assurance terminology and procedure
• Problem solving techniques and team building abilities
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment
• Continuous follow up of documentation
• Frequent involuntary interruptions
• Close attention to details
• Able to meet deadlines as required
• Working with others at all levels within the company
